With a friendly against Edmonton later in the afternoon, and a match against Colorado on Saturday, today's training session was a little sparse.
Bryce Alderson, Christian Dean, Sebastián Fernández, Erik Hurtado, Johnny Leverón, Kekuta Manneh, Nicolás Mezquida, Carlyle Mitchell, Ethen Sampson, and Paolo Tornaghi were absent, and will presumably comprise the majority of the starting eleven against the Rabbits.
Nigel Reo-Coker continued to train separate from the rest of his teammates, as he has not been cleared by the medical staff. He did some ball work, and seemed in high spirits despite the self-inflicted injury.
Pedro Morales and Matías Laba continue to impress, and Darren Mattocks looked to be in fine form. He may have been kept off the score sheet in competition, but he scored a number of goals in training. His first goal must be coming soon.
One of the more amusing incidents happened off the field. Pedro Morales and David Ousted, and odd couple if ever there was one, commandeered one of the Whitecaps carts. Assistant Equipment Manager Andrew Lichtenfels gave a spirited chase, and eventually chased them down, but not before they tried to do doughnuts with the cart.
