Giants in the Chynoweth Cup Round of 16

The Vancouver Giants don't know who they'll be paired with n the Chynoweth Cup Round of 16, but they know they'll be there. A year ago, the Giants found themselves on the outside, looking in.

So their qualification means that their dream of winning the Chynoweth Cup, and qualifying for the Memorial Cup, is still alive. One thing the Giants do know, is that they won't have home ice advantage for the best of seven affair.

Game 3 has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 25th, at seven o'clock. Game 4 will be Wednesday, also at seven, and Game 6, if necessary, will be held on Sunday, March 30th, at a special two o'clock faceoff. All home games will be played at the Pacific Coliseum.

But just because they've qualified doesn't mean that the season is over. The Giants can still finish anywhere from 5th through to 8th place in the Western Conference. This marks the 11th time that Vancouver has qualified for the Chynoweth Cup in their 13 years of existence.

Vancouver last won the Chynoweth Cup in 2006 and the Memorial Cup the following year.
