While the Under-23s don't official start the season until May, that doesn't stop them from arranging friendlies, like Friday's match against the Simon Fraser Clan. The match was played on the mountain at Fox Field, and ended in a 2-2 draw.
Senior squad manager Carl Robinson and his assistant Gordon Forrest were on hand to take in the match before Saturday's clash with the Rapids at BC Place. Sam Adekugbe also made an appearance on the sidelines to cheer on the academy players.
Christian Dean got 90 minutes at centre back and looked as imposing as ever, while Nicholas Prasad captained the side.
For the Clan, Jovan Blagojevic and Gilbert Kyne found the back of the net. This was the last spring match for the Clan, who begin their fifth season in NCAA Division II later this year.
There was a brief scare as there was a knee-on-knee collision between Anthony Van De Vendel and Marco Bustos, but both seemed to escape the altercation with no ill effects.
