On Saturday morning, FC Edmonton visited the British Columbia Thunderbirds, their last collegiate opponent before facing Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
Heading into the match, FC Edmonton held a commanding 3-0-0 record, and a plus nine goal differential. Against the Trinity Western Spartans, Simon Fraser Clan, and Fraser Valley Mariners FC, they had never scored less than three, and only conceded once, to NCAA side Simon Fraser.
But this was different. In the 35th minute, Naill Cousens put the Thunderbirds ahead. It was the first time that the Rabbits had trailed in any match. And though Daryl Fordyce would score the equaliser in the 54th minute, this result must have raised some concerns for the Albertans heading into their friendly with Vancouver on Tuesday.

FC Edmonton manager Colin Miller kept his side intact until the 65th minute, when he began to switch out players, making five changes in total. With only one match remaining, Miller treated this one more like a a competitive match than he had previously.
"I'm very pleased with this performance," said Miller. "There was some terrific football played and some good scoring chances. A big thank you to Mike Mosher and the Thunderbirds for allowing us the opportunity to play against some great opposition."
