Some might say that on Wednesday night, Vancouver made history by beating Seattle for the first time in Major League Soccer. And they'd be right. It was the first time in MLS. But there is so much more to this derby. For this was the 105th competitive fixture waged between these two sides.
For the 38th time, the first in over five years, Vancouver were the victors. In absolutely stunning fashion, they silenced the 38,833-strong crowd, less the usual travelling supporters contingent, with a monumental 4-1 victory. Kekuta Manneh became the youngest player ever to score three goals in a single MLS match, and will no doubt be named Player of the Week in a few days' time.
